Replay theatre Company in Belfast recently created TRIBE, inclusive theatre created specifically for autistic and/or neurodivergent audiences aged 8-18. the show is performed to one young audience member at a time. Feedback from the parent of a young person that attended
“It was absolutely phenomenal. I’ve been telling everyone about this amazing experience he had, and how I know it will stay with him forever. I took some photos, and when I show him – he gets excited! The hands and the feet go! It was so good for me and his dad as well. Because these are things we miss out on. C has no clue about Christmas, Santa Claus, birthdays – so I describe it as putting a wee bit of magic into his life, where sometimes he misses out. I’d compare it to another child experiencing all the make-believe of Christmas and birthdays and things, and for him and for us it was lovely to see him so captured. We wouldn’t be able to walk into another theatre with him and have that again. It’s such a magical unique experience for parents. It’s not something that happens every day, so when you see the effort that Replay has gone to, to reach children like C, it’s incredible.”
