Hopping Higher, celebrating success!
In 2017 Take Art joined forces with Surrey Arts and China Plate to launch Hopper, an under 5’s theatre initiative, to create opportunities for pre-school children to experience and influence great theatre in their Early Years setting.
Funded by Arts Council England, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Partnership Surrey, Hopper successfully brought 70 shows to schools, nurseries, libraries, children’s centres and theatres in Somerset and Surrey, watched by almost 4000 children and their families, often new to live performance.
Hot on the heels of this success, Take Art has secured additional funding from West Somerset Opportunities Area to extend this pilot into Spring 2019 as part of its commitment to ensuring that every child in West Somerset has a great start in life.
